The Milwaukee Brewers took the first game of a four-game set against the Rockies on Thursday night, defeating Colorado by the score of 5-2. Lorenzo Cain homered on the first pitch of the game from Germán Márquez and the Brewers never looked back, scoring once more in the third inning and thrice in the fifth. The Rockies are now 4-13 when their opponent scores first. Old friend Jhoulys Chacin earned the win for the Brewers after allowing two runs in 5 1⁄3 innings.
