No doubt about it: Ryan McMahon is having an excellent season.
He’s slashing .284/.371/.420 with a 125 wRC+. Among all third basemen, his 1.5 fWAR ranks him ninth and second when looking at NL third basemen. (Alec Bohm is first in the NL.) He is tied for third with 10 home runs, and his 12.0 BB% is also third.
Defensively, McMahon’s two DRS put him behind Ke’Byran Hayes and Matt Chapman (5) as well as Austin Riley (4), but he’s still third in this category. However, he’s first in UZR (3.7) while working to raise his OAA and FRV numbers.
