The Baseball Writers’ Association of America on Tuesday elected four new members:
— The Yankees’ Mariano Rivera, the greatest closer of all-time, who became the first player to ever get 100 percent of the vote. He received a yes on all 425 of the ballots cast.
— Hard-throwing right-hander Roy Halladay, a Colorado native who won two Cy Young Awards and threw a perfect game and a playoff no-hitter in the same season.
