Astros blast four home runs in 8-4 victory over Rockies

The umpire heave-hoed Walt Weiss in the third inning Wednesday and Coors Field went scrambling to look up, of course, Section II, subsection A, sub-subsection 1 of Major League Baseball's replay regulations.

The Rockies — trying to reverse a wicked 1-5 road trip that dropped them back into last place — returned to Coors Field for a rare rain-free game in Denver. But they were done-in by the rulebook.

As Weiss stalked second-base umpire Jerry Layne down the first-base line in the third, the Rockies lost hold again. They lost a video replay challenge, lost their manager to an early ejection, then lost another game to the bomb-hitting Houston Astros, 8-4, in front of 33,041 in Lower Downtown.
