A two-run home run from Charlie Blackmon and an RBI groundout from David Dahl in the bottom of the ninth were not enough for the Rockies to overcome a 10-6 deficit in a 10-9 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies had the tying run on third and the winning run on second with one out against Diamondbacks closer Greg Holland, but Ian Desmond and Chris Iannetta both struck out, ending the game.
Tyler Anderson’s tough start to 2019 continued on Friday as he allowed six runs, all earned, on seven hits in four innings of work, walking one and striking out five.
