Arenado brothers — Rockies’ Nolan, Giants’ Jonah — square off for first time

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rockies star third baseman Nolan Arenado admitted that the moment felt “a little weird.”

In the sixth inning of Sunday’s Cactus League game between the Rockies and Giants at Salt River Fields, Arenado’s younger brother, Jonah, entered the game as a pinch runner for Giants third baseman Evan Longoria, who had just smacked a double.

The possibility existed that Jonah, 23, would have to attempt to take third base against Nolan, 26.

“I would have had to tag him really hard,” Nolan said with a big laugh. “But it was cool to be out there with him.
