The crowd of 19,374 that witnessed the U.S. defeat Costa Rica, 1-0, in a FIFA World Cup Qualifying match on March 22, 2013 was the largest to attend an international game in the history of Dick's Sporting Goods Park and second largest ever. It likely would have set the record, however standing-room only tickets are not permitted for World Cup Qualifying games, per U.S. Soccer communications.
On July 4, 2009 the Colorado Rapids drew the stadium record standing-room only crowd of 19,680 in a 2-1 loss to Chicago in the annual Independence Day match.
Since opening in 2007 Dick's Sporting Goods Park has hosted 13 matches that did not feature the Colorado Rapids.
