Two Colorado Rapids players have been called up to the United States Men’s National Team’s January camp. Winger Jonathan Lewis and defender Sam Vines will both report to Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday.
The pair will join 23 others selected to participate in a nearly month-long training stint. The USMNT will train and play closed-door scrimmages before a Los Angeles friendly against Costa Rica to begin February.
“At the start of an exciting year, this is a great opportunity to continue our process and build on the foundation established in the last 12 months,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a release.
