Belgium clinched their best finish in a World Cup Saturday with a 2-0 win over England in St. Petersburg.
The Red Devils were the better team from start to finish despite the Three Lions dominating possession in the second half. Belgium's Thomas Meunier opened scoring less than four minutes into the game when he beat England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to give Belgium a lead they would never relinquish.
England had a chance to counter with a brilliant opportunity in the 67th minute, but Eric Dier had his effort cleared off the line by Tottenham teammate Toby Alderweireld.
