He doesn’t have his driver’s license yet but thankfully for him, one of his co-workers at his new job carpools him everywhere. Meet 16-year-old Sebastian Anderson, the youngest professional athlete in modern Denver sports history.
Anderson was signed by the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday to a five-year contract with an option for 2024. The right-back is a homegrown player from Highlands Ranch that joined the Rapids Academy in 2017.
There in the academy is where Anderson met now 17-year-old Cole Bassett, who has started six games for the Rapids in the midfield. Bassett moonlights as Anderson’s driver as the two best friends make their way to professional soccer practice from their parents’ houses.
