Source: Colorado Rapids to acquire Marco Pappa

The Colorado Rapids are set to acquire former Seattle Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa, according to a Major League Soccer source.

The 28-year-old midfielder from Guatemala City was pulled from the re-entry daft player pool moments before the draft was to take place, fueling speculation of a deal.

Terms of the deal were not immediately known.

Pappa has 35 goals in 161 MLS games (142 starts) since 2008. The Guatamalan international spent the last two seasons in Seattle. He played for the Chicago Fire from 2008-2012.

In July, Pappa was arrested for DUI and speeding and had to undergo as assessment by MLS' Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program.
