Earlier today, Stephen Goff of Soccer Insider reported that the Colorado Rapids have picked up defender Kofi Opare. Opare, 28, was with DC United from 2014-2018, but his team option was not picked up at the end of the 2018 season. The Ghanian had two surgeries at the end of 2018 and was just cleared by his doctor last week.
Opare was drafted in 2013 by the LA Galaxy, didn’t play much, and was traded to DCU in 2015. He started out slowly there, earning 18 appearances in 2015 and 10 in 2016.
