The Burgundy Boys confirmed what was rumored from last week: Marco Pappa is now a Colorado Rapids player
The Colorado Rapids today made a pretty significant splash as they traded for Seattle Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa in a deal that had been rumored for the past couple of days. This is a big move for the Rapids as they look to improve their goal scoring and general attacking threat after two down years.
The Rapids sent Seattle undisclosed "General Allocation Money" for Pappa.
Paul Bravo, Vice President of Soccer Operations and Technical Director had this to say about the acquisition of Pappa:
We are delighted to acquire a player of the caliber of Marco
The departure of Vicente Sánchez left a gap for a chief creator and we believe Marco can step in to that vital role.
