COMMERCE CITY — In Saturday night’s Rapids game, Kei Kamara made history. Netting his 115th career goal, the Colorado striker moved up to fifth on Major League Soccer’s all-time scoring list.
The 34-year-old forward is in his 13th MLS season. Originally a refugee from war-torn Sierra Leone, Kamra’s renowned athleticism, elite aerial ability and terrific one-touch finishing is what bolstered him into the record books.
“He’s a real man. When the game is tough and you need somebody to step up to compete, he’s really imposing,” head coach Anthony Hudson said. “It’s a breath of fresh air.
