Rapids Special Olympics Unified player, Jason Horton receives an Honorary ESPY

LeBron James. Sidney Crosby. The Golden State Warriors. All ESPN ESPY Award winners in recent years.

Colorado Rapids Special Olympics Unified team member Jason Horton will join that illustrious group Wednesday as he is set to receive a 2017 Honorary ESPY Award. Horton was one of 25 athletes that were selected for this honor.

Horton has shown tremendous resilience battling cancer and numerous other setbacks. During his second round of cancer treatments, Horton lost both of his parents to cancer.

“For an athlete that has been through all the challenges that Jason has been through, there is nobody that deserves it more than him,” President and CEO of Special Olympics Colorado Mindy Watrous said.
