There’s a hodgepodge of hurdles to clear, but Major League Soccer is on its way back.
The league announced Thursday that teams may begin voluntary small group training sessions so long as the practices do not conflict with local health protocols. Clubs began individual workouts earlier this month, including the Colorado Rapids in mid-May.
While several ideas for a return to play have been floated, nothing yet has been announced. What has been established is that several players, and the league, want to return to the pitch as soon as it is safe.
