The Colorado Rapids just announced that the first signing of this off-season is Johan Blomberg, an attacking midfielder from Sweden. The 30-year-old is coming from Sweden’s AIK Fotboll (a first division team), pending his international paperwork, and will occupy an international slot. The Rapids signed him to a two-year contract.
According to the press release, Rapids Sporting Director and Interim General Manager Pádraig Smith said: “We have had an eye on Johan for quite some time and he is someone who we believe will add an extra creative dimension to our team. Johan fits into the way we want to play and we’re confident he will improve our team – especially on the attacking side.
