The Colorado Rapids on Monday announced the signing of free-agent striker Alan Gordon.
The former Los Angeles Galaxy striker provides the Rapids depth at center forward in a season in which they will have the additional games in CONCACAF Champions League.
“His experience and his results probably speak for themselves. He’s a champion,” Rapids president Tim Hinchey said last week. “He knows how to score important goals. He’s the type of person that knows how to finish off a professional match. And he’s a lot to handle. Those kind of players are important.”
Gordon announced the signing late Sunday on his Instagram account, thanking the Los Angeles Galaxy for his time there, and looking ahead to suiting up for the Rapids.
