COMMERCE CITY — Johan Blomberg nearly scored seconds after coming off the bench in the 79th minute. It would’ve given the Rapids a two-goal lead Sunday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Sixty seconds later, Blomberg was given a yellow card. Ten minutes after that, he got a second yellow card and an ejection.
The Rapids were down to 10 men with just three minutes and change to go. They didn’t last a minute. Johnny Russell scored his first goal of the year for Sporting KC, tying the game at 1-1, where it would finish.
