At the Fan Q&A last night (watch here if you missed it), Colorado Rapids Executive VP and General Manager Pádraig Smith announced that the club had reached an agreement with Cole Bassett, a Homegrown player in the Rapids Academy. Bassett is 17 years old and a junior at Chatfield Senior High School, making him the youngest signing in club history.
Bassett played for the Colorado Rush from 2015-2016 and joined the Rapids in 2017. Since then, the central midfielder has made appearances with the U16/17, U18/19, and U23 squads, scoring 10 goals. He was also one of the four Academy players called up for the Boca Juniors match.
