Rapids midfielder Sam Cronin does the dirty work that makes the attack go

One of the biggest reasons for the Rapids' dramatic turnaround this season has been the two-way play of newcomer Jermaine Jones, an attacking midfielder who also has been willing to track back and take the ball away from opponents after the Rapids lose it.

But there's another player whose willingness to do the dirty work and destroy opposition attacks has helped put Colorado (7-2-3) atop the Supporters' Shield standings. Sam Cronin has been exceptional playing behind Jones in a defensive midfield role.
