Attending U.S. Soccer training camp is another day at work for young Cole Bassett. He approached this job no different than when he pulls up to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park ahead of practice and play — with genuine excitement, laser-sharp focus and purpose, and a strong desire to be there.
The grounded Bassett will conclude this camp filled with rising MLS stars, Olympics hopefuls, and future senior U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) players today. After a week of challenging himself, working out as many as three times per day, outrunning his competition, filling his cup with even more self-confidence, and having fun, he is poised to showcase his talents against a strong El Salvador side during an evening friendly in balmy Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
