COMMERCE CITY — Colorado Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni was always a fiery competitoras a player, so it makes sense that his team has adopted that same mentality.
When the Rapids' supporters group Centennial 38 unfurled a massive tifo behind the north stands on Saturday prior to Colorado's Rocky Mountain Cup match against rival Real Salt Lake, it set the tone.
"The guys from C38 really put things in perspective with the tifo that said, 'Keep Fighting,' " Mastroeni said after the match.
The messaging was on point. After finishing last in the Western Conference last season, Mastroeni explained that the Rapids know they have something to prove.
