SEATTLE — Rapids defender Marc Burch was not amused with Sounders playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro after they came together on two key situations in Colorado’s 2-1 loss in the opening leg of the Western Conference championship series Tuesday.
Burch accused Lodeiro of flopping in the box to earn a second-half penalty kick, and Burch was fortunate not to receive his second yellow card on the play. In the first half, Burch was given a yellow card when his arm flailed and Lodeiro went down.
Replays showed Lodeiro kicked Burch, but Lodeiro escaped without a card.
“He kicked me after a play,” Burch said.
