COMMERCE CITY — Two teams that dueled each other for the MLS Supporters’ Shield down to the last weekend of the season a year ago met with considerably lower stakes Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, but the Rapids could take some solace in that rival FC Dallas is struggling just to make the playoffs.
Dallas, which began the evening standing eighth in the conference, could only earn a point as the teams fought to a 1-1 draw. FCD had a lot more on the line, but Colorado gave the visitors everything they could handle in a gritty battle for both teams.
