The Colorado Rapids acquired defender Eric Miller from the Montreal Impact on Sunday.
The Rapids traded general allocation money and the team's natural first-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
"Eric is a rising young player in our league and with the U.S. national team program," vice president of soccer operations Paul Bravo said in a news release. "He will bring added quality and competition to our backline."
Miller, 23, has four starts with the United States' U-23 team. He played 2,163 minutes with Montreal the last two years, mainly at right back.
