Pádraig Smith and the rest of the Colorado Rapids Front Office have been very busy lately. Today the ‘Pids acquired midfielder Kellyn Rowe from New England Revolution in exchange for Edgar Castillo (who we couldn’t afford anyway), then flipped Rowe over to Sporting Kansas City with $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money and $200,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for forward Diego Rubio.
The 25-year-old Chilean was signed as a young DP in 2016 and scored 14 goals in 38 appearances for Sporting and added two goals in the 2018 MLS Playoffs as a super sub.
