COMMERCE CITY — Sebastian Anderson had already faced Arsenal several times prior to Monday night — in EA Sports’ FIFA video game, like most teenagers.
This time around, however, the 16-year-old Rapids defender wasn’t going up against a virtual Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Instead, it was the Arsenal star in the flesh.
And Anderson was up to the task.
“When Aubameyang first came in, he was on my side,” Anderson said. “I put my arm up to touch him and I was like, ‘This is real and this is crazy.’”
The soon-to-be ThunderRidge High School senior was named Man of the Match in the first-ever bout between Arsenal FC and the Rapids.
