Comcast donated $25,000 to Gov. Jared Polis’s inauguration earlier this year.
But that donation, Polis said Wednesday through a spokesman, played no role in the governor’s decision to publicly apply pressure last week on Altitude Sports, which is locked in an ongoing contract dispute with Comcast.
On Saturday, the governor posted to Twitter an open letter addressed to Jim Martin, president and CEO of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, which owns Altitude. The channel broadcasts of Nuggets, Avalanche and Rapids games, among other sports content — but it hasn’t been available for months to either Comcast or DISH customers
