Midfielder Dillon Serna to undergo season-ending knee surgery

Colorado Rapids midfielder Dillon Serna will undergo surgery after tearing the ACL and lateral meniscus in his right knee during the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match at FC Dallas on Wednesday night.

It is expected he will be sidelined for six to eight months.

“We are extremely disappointed for Dillon that this injury has come at a time when he and the club are doing so well,” said Paul Bravo, Technical Director and VP of Soccer Operations. “Now, it is important for us to fully support him throughout the process of getting back on the field.
