The top two sides in the Supporters’ Shield standings could not be split at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night.
Marlon Hairston’s opportunist strike gave Colorado Rapids the lead a minute before the break. However Dallas substitute Victor Ulloa powered home a long-range drive to equalize eight minutes from time.
This was a tight game between two evenly-matched teams. The home side seemed to have control for the majority of the 90 minutes however Oscar Pareja’s men forced a world–class save out of Tim Howard in each half.
Rapids (10-2-8) are now unbeaten for a club record 15 games.
