Charlotte Independence were left frustrated by Orlando City B on Saturday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home.
The Rapids’ USL affiliate still lead the Eastern Conference, but their advantage has now been cut to three points, with Louisville City and Charleston Battery both sitting on 41 points. Louisville have three games in hand.
Orlando made the early breakthrough on Saturday, with Hadji Barry converting from the penalty spot after just five minutes. Charlotte trailed for two minutes, before David Estrada leveled, following an assist from Joel Johnson.
Despite out-shooting the visitors 21-13, the Independence were unable to secure their seventh home win of the season, and now sit on 44 points from 24 games, with a 12-4-8 record.
