Match Preview: Rapids travel to New York City for first time

Colorado Rapids travel to New York City FC for the first time ever on Saturday as they look to revitalize their bid for the Supporters’ Shield crown.

Pablo Mastroeni’s men are still well-placed in second place, three points behind Dallas and with three games in hand.

However they have tied six of their last nine games and are looking to regain a cutting edge against the side currently leading the Eastern Conference.

The addition of keeper Tim Howard has added experience but Shkëlzen Gashi has not been back to top form after Euro 2016, Marco Pappa has been benched in recent games, Jermaine Jones is injured and, despite a solid season, Kevin Doyle has only four goals.
