COMMERCE CITY — Look out, MLS. Marlon Hairston is on fire.
The Rapids’ 22-year-old winger scored his third goal in the last four games and added an assist, leading the Rapids to a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Hairston opened the scoring a minute before halftime, when defender Marc Burch sent a low cross into the 6-yard box and Hairston buried it past Whitecaps keeper David Ousted.
“Coach told us this week, ‘crash, crash, everyone just get into the box,’ and it was a great ball and I was able to put it into the back of the net,” Hairston said of his goal.
