COMMERCE CITY — When Colorado Rapids midfielder Marco Pappa injured his left knee in a 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls on April 16, the prognosis was two to four weeks with a sprained MCL.
“Four weeks later, we make an MRI again, and we see it had a bone bruise,” Pappa said Wednesday. “The bone is still healing, so not sure how long it will take.”
The Guatemalan international was acquired in the offseason from the Seattle Sounders FC and quickly made his mark with the Rapids, scoring a goal and adding three assists in his first six appearances (four starts).
