COMMERCE CITY — When the Colorado Rapids began practicing on their snow-lined training field Monday afternoon, Luis Solignac lined up at center forward. A few minutes later it was Conor Doyle. And a few minutes after that, Dominique Badji.
"Those are the three guys that we'll be looking at to replace Kevin (Doyle)," Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni said. "We have the whole week of training to get guys some reps."
Kevin Doyle, who last year was signed as a designated player and was Colorado's leading scorer and highest-paid player, sustained a deep gash in his shin Friday while playing an international friendly for the Republic of Ireland.
