The Colorado Rapids announced today that they have loaned goalkeeper John Berner to Charlotte Independence of the USL's Eastern Conference. From the Rapids press release:
"We feel this is a good time for John to get game sharpness following his offseason injury," said Brian Crookham, Rapids Senior Director of Soccer Development. "John is a talented goalkeeper and we look forward to monitoring his progress during his time on loan."
Last season, Berner appeared in 17 matches for the Independence, registering 44 saves and four shutouts, while posting a 6-5-6 record.
