The Rapids on Tuesday announced their first offseason signing as attacking midfielder Johan Blomberg agreed to terms for the 2018 season.
Blomberg comes to the Rapids from AIK Fotboll of the Swedish first division. The 30-year-old from Lund, Sweden, will require an international roster spot for 2018.
“We have had an eye on Johan for quite some time and he is someone who we believe will add an extra creative dimension to our team,” Rapids sporting director and interim general manager Pádraig Smith said in a news release. “Johan fits into the way we want to play and we’re confident he will improve our team – especially on the attacking side.
