The Colorado Rapids USL affiliate Charlotte Independence defeated the Richmond Kickers on Friday night after a sloppy, back and forth matchup.
The wet conditions made it tough to keep possession for both sides, and the first half ended all square at 1-1 after a 42nd minute goal from Caleb Calvert, on loan from the Colorado Rapids.
The second half was full of drama as the teams traded goals before Jun Marques Davidson was taken down in the box in second half stoppage time. Jorge Herrera stepped up and coolly placed his shot in the bottom right corner to take the 3-2 lead and all three points.
