The Colorado Rapids were thrilled with their depth coming into the 2020 season, but they didn’t expect to use it like this.
The Rapids, and the rest of MLS, will resume play with a month-long tournament starting July 8 in Orlando, with the winner getting $1.1 million and a spot in the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.
The Walt Disney World-hosted event could see Colorado play as many as seven games if it reaches the Aug. 11 championship. On Thursday, the Rapids learned just how difficult it will be to get there, as the makeup of the group stage was revealed.
