The Colorado Rapids acquired wingback Deklan Wynne from Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 of the USL on December 21, in exchange for $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
Here are three things to know about the 22-year-old defender.
1. He has experience in New Zealand’s top division
At the age of 18, Wynne signed with Wanderers SC, who played in the New Zealand Football Championship – the top tier in New Zealand – now known as the ISPS Handa Premiership. There the 5’ 10” defender played 2,340 minutes and scored one goal in 26 appearances, before signing with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on August 13, 2015.
