Colorado Rapids Development Academy are finalizing preparations for their opening game at the Generation adidas Cup Champions Division this Friday, as they get set to compete in what has been described as a ‘massive event’.
Sixteen teams, including hosts FC Dallas, are converging on Frisco, Texas for the premier academy competition in North America.
Sides from soccer’s elite - such as Real Madrid, Flamengo, River Plate, and Estudiantes - are joined by teams from eight MLS Development Academies, with the tournament running from April 7-15.
“The boys have worked hard to earn the right to be in the Champions Division of the GA Cup finals,” said the Rapids’ Development Academy Program Director, Chris Martinez.
