After struggling mightily in the first half, the Colorado Rapids played much better in the second half but it wasn’t enough. In the end, the Burgundy Boys lost 2-1 to LAFC at Banc of California Stadium on Saturday night.
With centerback Lalas Abubakar back to the starting lineup, Rapids head coach Robin Fraser decided to try a 3-man backline with Auston Trusty and Danny Wilson. General confusion with the defense resulted in LAFC’s Diego Rossi scoring the game’s first goal in the 14th minute.
In the 33rd minute, Carlos Vela assisted Rossi’s second goal of the night.
