COMMERCE CITY–The Colorado Rapids dropped goals like flies on Saturday night as they quarantined the Montreal Impact 6-3. While jokes about the game being impacted by the plague spread like, well, the plague so too did the scoring.
Each team had an own goal in the first half-hour and Colorado finished the first half with what was already a season-high for goals in a match with four.
“It’s crazy walking up seeing a plague (warning),” Sam Vines said jokingly in good spirits postgame. “But there were no rodents on the field so I think we’re alright.
