In just 10 minutes during last Friday’s second half against Sporting Kansas City, the Colorado Rapids were shown a red card, conceded a tying goal, gave up a penalty kick and subsequently surrendered the lead.
That’s when captain Jack Price snapped, saying something to referee David Gantar that drew another red card.
Suddenly, the Rapids were playing with nine men.
Though the club miraculously leveled the score late in the match, they put themselves in an awful hole — one that ultimately led to their demise in a 3-2 loss that all but knocked them out of the MLS is Back Tournament.
