The Colorado Rapids have traded midfielder Dillon Powers to Orlando City in exchange for midfielder Luis Gil, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.
Powers, the Rapids’ longest-tenured player, was shipped to the Lions along with $100,000 in allocation money just before the summer transfer window closed Wednesday, the report said.
Gil, 23, made his MLS debut with Real Salt Lake in 2011 and played with the Rapids’ Rocky Mountain rivals through 2015 when he made a move to Queretaro of Mexico’s Liga MX. Gil was loaned to Orlando City in April where he reunited with former RSL coach Jason Kreis.
