COMMERCE CITY — Walking off the field after a Rapids’ preseason practice Wednesday, Jack Price cut off a reporter before he could even finish his question.
“They’re writing us off, they always do,” the 27-year-old Colorado midfielder said of the national perception of his club.
Indeed, after compiling just 20 wins during the past two seasons, most national pundits aren’t buying the Rapids as an MLS playoff contender ahead of Saturday’s season opener at D.C. United. And Price isn’t all that interested in selling.
“We like people that don’t fancy us, we’re not really bothered about them,” Price said.
