Decision Day didn’t go in the Rapids’ favor, but we’re still proud

No one would have guessed that the Rapids’ last game of the season against Los Angeles Football Club would’ve mattered. Unfortunately, Colorado wasn’t able to get the win today and their fate relied on other scenarios that didn’t pan out in their favor.

Carlos Vela, the best forward in MLS, earned a brace in the first half to top Josef Martinez’s single-season goal record. Kei Kamara scored in the 40th minute, but Vela came back in the second half to complete the hat trick for a 3-1 LA win. FC Dallas destroyed Sporting Kansas City 6-0, and even though the Portland Timbers beat San Jose Earthquakes 3-1, it wasn’t enough and the Rapids’ playoff hopes were squashed this afternoon.
