The Colorado Rapids are set to acquire striker Conor Doyle from D.C. United, a Major League Soccer source told The Denver Post on Tuesday.
It was not immediately known what the Rapids were sending to D.C. in return. Doyle earned $61,250 last season, according to figures released by the MLS Players Union. The Washington Post first reported the trade.
The Washington Post reports Doyle has confirmed the trade and was packing his gear Tuesday.
The Rapids have sought to add the McKinney, Tex. native since 2013, when Doyle spent six weeks on trial with the Rapids under then-coach Oscar Pareja.
