It did not look good at first for the Colorado Rapids. Eighteen minutes in, Kei Kamara tried to clear the ball but instead bounced it past Tim Howard and into the back of the net for the Rapids’ 6th own goal of the season. The Burgundy Boys responded quickly, forcing Montreal Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush to get an own goal on the other end.
After that, the Rapids opened the game up, destroying Montreal down the middle time and time again. Kamara scored in the 36th minute on a penalty kick and Diego Rubio added another in the 4th minute of stoppage time, putting Colorado up 4-1 at the end of the first half.
